As invited ‘Solutionaries,’ I spoke with Romola Ratnam, SVP at Endeavor Content, about the history, present and future of the Inclusion Rider. We also heard from and spoke to people from different sectors about how their work aligns with positive and sustainable change. The event was put on by the authors of Good is the New Cool – Afdhel Aziz and Bobby Jones. Definitely check out their work – and join the community! ![]() ![]() I was really fortunate that celebrating Kwanzaa was normalized in my childhood. In Cambridge, our elementary school held a special assembly for it each year and I remember that even when I didn’t know what all the symbols stood for, I always felt at home. As an adult, some years I’ve celebrated faithfully and sometimes there were years in between. Last year I purchased a Kinara (the candle holder), and asked family and friends to reflect on the principles with me for the seven days of Kwanzaa. I realized that celebrating this beautiful tradition is a perfect way to contemplate the previous year and be mindful about the upcoming one. I share the 7 principles of Kwanzaa (the Nguzo Saba) with you here, and if they speak to you – consider taking these into 2022 and beyond – with truth, justice and love as your guiding light.
